Vazhakkai podimas - Raw banana podimas





Preparation time: 3-5 minutes
Cooking time: 7-10 minutes



Ingredients

1 Raw banana
1 onion
2-3 green chillies
3 garlic pieces
Few curry leaves
1tsp mustard seeds
½tsp turmeric powder
2tbsp grated coconut
Salt
1 tbsp Coconut oil

How I made it

  • Peel the outer skin of raw banana. Cut into small cubes, immerse in water until you use it.
  • Rubbing raw bananas with turmeric powder and salt makes it soft and easy to cook.

  • In a wok heat oil and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add finely chopped onions, green chillies and garlic pods. Cook till onions turn translucent.

  • Add raw bananas cubes and mix it together. Add enough water to cook the bananas.
  • Once cooked turn off the stove and add the grated coconut.

  • Serve with steamed rice and any kuzhambhu of choice.
