Eggless Vanilla Sponge Cake Recipe

Eggless Vanilla Sponge Cake Recipe 


1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
1 cup of plain yogurt (I used fat-free)
1 cup of sugar
½ tsp baking soda
1 ¼ tsp of baking powder
½ cup of neutral oil (I used vegetable oil)
1 tsp of vanilla extract

How I made it

  • Preheat oven to 350F/180C.  In a cake pan apply little of butter or oil and dust with little flour. Keep aside.
  • In a bowl, beat yogurt.  Beat with a whisk to remove all lumps. And sugar to it. Beat well.
  • Add baking powder and baking soda. Beat it together and set aside for 5 mins. It forms small bubbles.

  • Add vanilla extract and oil to the mixture
  • Add the sifted flour into the mixture.
  • Mix everything together and pour into the cake pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 mins (mine took about 30 mins) . Insert a tooth pick into the cake and check.
  • Cool it completely and serve.
