Aloo Mutter Subzi

Aloo Mutter Subzi

The simplest side dish which goes great with poori, chapathi, naan, dosas.  


4-5 tsp Edible oil
Butter (optional)
2 Potatoes
1 cup of green peas

To grind:
2 onions
2 tomatoes
1 tsp of ginger garlic paste
1-2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp of coriander powder
½ tsp garam masala
1-2 tsp pepper corns
1/2 -1 tsp cumin seeds
Coriander leaves to garnish


  • Pressure cook the potatoes with sufficient water for 3 whistles. Remove the outer layer and cut the potatoes into pieces. Keep aside.
  • Grind all the items given under the column. Add oil in a kadai/pan and add the ground paste. Cook till the raw smell goes-off. Stir carefully since the paste has ginger-garlic paste it may stuck onto the pan. If needed add some more oil or you can use little of butter.

Now add the boiled potatoes and green peas. Mix the contents together and adjust salt. 

  • Add water and allow to boil to get the perfect consistency. Garnish with coriander leaves.
