Beans Poriyal



Preparation time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins

Ingredients

Green Beans – 1 cup (chopped)
2tbsp finely chopped onion
3 tbsp moong dal
4-5 red chillies
Few curry leaves
Pinch of turmeric powder
1tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp urad dal
¼ cup grated coconut
Salt
1tsp Oil

How to make it

  • Wash and soak the dal in water for 10 minutes. Microwave it for 3 minutes or till it is half cooked.
  • In a pan heat oil and temper mustard and urad dal. Stir curry leaves and red chillies

  • Sauté onions and add chopped beans to it. Give a quick fry.

  • Add ½ cup of water and pinch of turmeric powder to it.

  • Add salt and stir well.
  • Cook till the beans become soft. Now add the half cooked moong dal and mix well.

  • Check for salt and add the grated coconut.
